Gothic fiction is a genre of literature that has elements of both horror and romance; gothic consists of several categories. Gothic literature usually have the following characteristics mysterious, castles, mansions, remote areas, murder, terror, darkness, treachery, curses, superstitions, and several other aspects. The characters usually consists of villian's, monsters, vampires, ghost, devils, byronich heroes, and demons. The story usually has a supernatural plot. The setting are often in in medieval times. In the book Frankenstein the feeling of lonliness tends to be the main theme. Several murders are commited by the hideous misunderstood monster. All three main characters are in search of something. Secretcy comes into play because Frankenstein and his existence were kept hidden from many. This story also bares a supernatural plot about both man an monster.These are a few elements that make up gothic literature.
